Strike Beer Collective is a concept I created for a worker-owned cooperative brewery that is edgy, radical, fun, and humorous. Strike is inspired by punk and DIY aesthetics. Under this larger brand identity, I designed the Summer Surveillance Variety Pack, a line of 3 beers using imagery and language relating to surveillance states in a playful way. By offering a business structure that is an alternative to exploitative capitalist companies, Strike is able to appeal and market to an audience that often rejects being pandered to.
The packaging for each beer in the line uses expressive typography to fit the themes and halftone imagery to recall the look of a zine or photocopied flyer. Using white packaging, blue bottles, and pink caps, the beer stands out on the shelf and differentiates itself from the packaging of similar products.
