Design Speak is book created by Johnson County Community College graphic design students. Each student must interview a graphic designer who’s work they are interested in and create two spreads to show the interview and work samples. I interviewed Brian Huddleston, a graphic and type designer for the Walker Art Center. I learned a lot from Brian and was excited to design the interview in a way that would reflect his work and ideas. Brian’s work consists largely of type and layout design so I used large typography on the first page to introduce him and paid a lot of attention to creating a clean yet exciting layout to show off his words and work.
